Randy King

Randy King was born in central Iowa, the oldest of 5 kids. He was raised on a 2,000 farm growing corn, soybeans and alfalfa mix hay. His parents also had a beef feedlot, a hog farrowing/finishing operation and a laying hen operation. Randy graduated from Boone High School in 1968 and subsequently attended Des Moines Area Community College and Morningside College graduating in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Economics.
Growing up he was in scouts for a couple of years. He was an athletic trainer for football, basketball and track. He was active in 4-H and served as county president his senior year in high school. He was selected to participate in a Citizenship Shortcourse in Washington, DC and a Nebraska Exchange program. He was also active in DeMolay and was elected as Chapter Master Counselor his senior year of high school.
After graduating from college, he joined the masonic lodge in his home town. He received his degrees in Mt. Olive Lodge #79 AF & AM of Iowa being raised to master mason in October 1972. He started in banking in 1973 as an officer trainee. He work took him to several different states and he has belonged to lodges in Nebraska, Wyoming, Oregon and Idaho since being raised. His work eventually brought him to Idaho in 1997 and he joined Oriental Lodge #60 in Boise, obtained his full Worshipful Master Certificate in May 2003, and was elected as Worshipful Master for 2004. In 2005 served as Worshipful Master of the Idaho Lodge of Research #1965. He is also a charter member of Initial Point Lodge #98 in Kuna.
Randy was appointed by MWPGM Robert B Cargill in September 2007 as Grand Sword Bearer, an office he held until September 2008 when his work took him to Oregon. He was then appointed by MWPGM Daniel B Heberling as acting Grand Treasurer in 2014. He held that office until November 2019 when he resigned to sit as Worshipful Master of Silver City Lodge #13 and he served in that capacity until September 2022. In May 2021 he was appointed as Junior Grand Deacon of the Grand Lodge of Idaho by MWPGM Steven O Zimmerman to fill the remainder of that term.
He is a member of Boise Valley Scottish Rite, Union Royal Arch Masons, Boise Council No 1 and El Korah Shrine. He is a 52 year mason. He presently works for DL Evans Bank in Meridan as Vice President Commercial Loan Officer making commercial and agricultural loans.
Randy and his wife Kathi have been married 39 years and have 2 children, Todd at Newberg, OR and Tia at Middleton, ID. They have twin grandsons, Owen & Rawley who are 14 months old. Randy has been active in numerous organizations throughout his life and has as various times served as president of Kiwanis, Lions and Chamber of Commerce. He is active in his church and served in various positions including council president. He strongly believes in giving back as we are able to as exemplified by the quote “If not me, then who?”
