Steve S. Bate – District 5

I was born in Cascade, Idaho on July, 1962. At the age of 5 I bought the Ford Dealership along with my parents and Brother Bob. I attended Cascade High School (I hated playing the trombone in band class), graduating at age 17. I attended Boise State University (my Dad always called it BJC) graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major in economics and quantitative analysis.
My wife Gloria and I will celebrate our 42nd anniversary next September. We are on our 5th dog (Golden Retriever).
I then came back to Cascade to work at the family Ford Dealership. My Mother died in 1995 at the age of 60 so I took over the accounting and parts department. My Father died in 1999 at the age of 66 so I basically took over running the business. My Brother Bob ran the repair shop. Even though I grew up in the business, cars really aren’t my passion but business and investing are. I retired in 2019.
I am an avid hunter and fisherman. I’ve collected 5 Bighorn Sheep, moose, mountain goat and all of the local species.
I like to travel. I’ve been to Alaska many times and all over the Western United States. I have visited 27 Caribbean Islands. I’ve never been to Washington D.C. but would like to.
I became a Master Mason in 1990 and have served as WM 10 times at Ionic 82 and once at Capital City 93. I am also a plural member of Placer 3. I am a member of York Rite, Scottish Rite and Shrine. I am currently serving my 11th time as WM at Ionic 82 as well as covering the role of DDGM in the 5th Masonic District.
