Bob E. Nelson Jr. – District 3

Bob E. Nelson Jr. serves as District Deputy Grand Master of the 3rd Masonic District, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Idaho. He was born in Pittsburg, California, in 1961 and moved to Rio Vista, California, in 1967. He attended Rio Vista High School, graduating in 1978.
Bob worked for the J.R. Simplot Company for 17 years, which ultimately led to his relocation to Idaho. He was transferred by the corporate office to serve as Purchasing Coordinator for two Simplot entities: Simplot Seeds and Plant Health Technologies. He currently works for Jackson Group Peterbilt in Jerome, Idaho, where he has been employed for 13.5 years.
Bob was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Woodbridge Lodge No. 131 in Woodbridge, California, in 1999. He served as Worshipful Master for the first time in 2015 at Twin Falls Lodge No. 45 and again in 2024. He also served as Worshipful Master at Burley Lodge No. 68 three or four times and was the last sitting Master when that lodge closed. Bob has sat in every lodge position except Secretary and Tiler. He is a member of El Korah Shrine and a Past President of the Twin Falls Shrine Club. He has previously chaired the following committees: the Twin Falls Annual Chili Feed and Auction and Twin Falls Past Masters Night.
Bob is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He currently serves on the Kimberly, Idaho Stake High Council and is assigned to the following responsibilities: Kimberly Idaho Stake Audit Committee, YSA Shepherd, Disability Specialist, Stake Single Adults 36+ Advisor, and BYU–Pathway Education.
Bob has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 20 years. They have six children, five of whom are living. His son is currently serving a mission in the Massachusetts Boston Mission and is scheduled to return home in August 2026. In his free time, Bob enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping.
