Monte B. Bollar – District 6

I was born September, 1952, in Cascade Idaho. To Arthur J. and Hazeldene Bollar. We lived in Cascade Idaho for a few years and moved to a ranch 4 miles from Lake Fork, Idaho until I joined the army in May 1972.
Some of the following, College, Military and work were overlapping, had to do many things to pay the bills.
Schooling
I attended Elementary School and Jr. High School in Donnelly, Idaho. Attended McCall Donnelly High School in McCall, Idaho. I graduated in May 1970. I did not go directly to college, but did finally Boise State University, Boise, Idaho where I received bachelor’s degree in business management, with Aviation Option.
Military
I joined US Army in May 1972, was sent to Basic Training in Ft. Lewis Washington, followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in Ft. Eustis, VA. Basic Helicopter Maintenance, and then assigned to work on AH-1G (Cobra) Attack Helicopter. After which was sent to Vietnam stationed a short time in Caman Bay, Guard Force then reassigned to the 57th Assault Helicopter Company served as a AH-1G Crew Chief to finish my tour in country. After Vietnam I was stationed at Ft. Sill, OK to the 333rd Airal Field Artillery Company until the end of my first enlistment.
After a break, I re-enlisted and joined the Idaho Army National Guard 116th Air Troop as a UH-1M (Mike Model) Attack Helicopter as a Crew Chief, I received an opportunity to attend Warrant OƯice Candidate Development (WOCD) and Flight School. I completed (WOCD) Training and Flight Training I received my pilots’ wings and the rank of Warrant OƯicer (WO1). I flew the UH-1M (Mike Model) Attack Helicopter in the Air Troop Idaho Army National Guard. (Also, Received my Private Commercial/Instrument Helicopter License.)
I Transitioned to the 6228th United States Army Reserve School, Boise, Idaho as an instructor, Evaluator, and OIC of Weekend Training at Gowen Field.
Transition to the 321st Armored Cav. Signal Detachment as the OIC of the Data Processing Section.
Retired as Chief Warrant Officer (CW4) after 24 years.
Business
I worked at Bob Rice Ford Truck shop as a truck mechanic,
I worked at Hewlett-Packard doing various jobs from production, Incoming Audit, Information Technology and Global Operations. I retired after 24 years of service.
