Michael A. Kish

Becoming a Mason in 2005 and proudly serving the fraternity for more than 20 years, Michael has had the honor of serving the brotherhood as Worshipful Master, District Deputy Grand Master, Senior Grand Steward, and a member of multiple Grand Lodge committees. Advancing the brotherhood through inspiring others, Michael proudly encourages younger Masons to be involved in their lodges and the progression of lodge membership and activities. He is enthusiastic about his involvement in his lodge’s childhood literacy philanthropy and other community service programs. Michael is a member of Capital City #93, Kootenai #24, and Ionic #82. Additionally, he is a member of the York Right bodies.
As a law enforcement professional, he has served his state and community as a Trooper in the Idaho State Police since 2016 and is now assigned as an Operations Captain in Meridian, Idaho. As a Captain, he serves as the Commander of the Idaho State Police Training Unit, Domestic Highway Drug Intervention Program, and other organizational responsibilities. Prior to being promoted to his current duties, he led the Capitol Protective Services Unit and Governor’s Executive Protection Detail. Michael brings to his position a wealth of knowledge and field experience as a leader. Prior to transitioning to the Idaho State Police, the United States Army was his passion for nearly 28 years, where he achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major (CSM). During his tenure, he served in various positions such as Brigade CSM, Battalion CSM, Operations Sergeant Major, and other leadership and developmental positions of responsibility.
Michael is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Law Enforcement Executive Development Trilogy program, United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy, and other executive leadership programs. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science from Lewis Clark State College, Master of Arts from Northcentral University, Executive Certificate in Criminal Justice from Liberty University, and scheduled to complete his PhD from Liberty University in 2026.
He and his wife, Michelle, have been married since 1994 and have four kids. Their oldest, Doug, works and lives in Colorado, David attends Freed Hardman University in Henderson, TN, and Emma and Grace are students at Boise State University. Service is his watchword, and he works hard to take care of others while advancing his community.
